Most gynaecology problems are embarrassing and for that reason, women have usually been “putting up with it” for way too long by the time they present for help. Often they are so busy taking care of everyone else in their life, that they put their own needs on hold.
It’s a good idea to come a little early to your first appointment to ensure we have all “the paperwork” and that it is completely entered into our electronic medical record before you meet Dr. Bailey. Your first visit is a bit longer than usual as not only does he want to hear “your story”, but also there is often a number of blood tests and imaging results to be reviewed and discussed with you.
At this point, there is often an examination to complete. Our nurse will stay by your side throughout the procedure and feel free to have your partner or friend join you if you wish. We recognise that this part of the visit is most uncomfortable for most women. Everything we do will be explained and will only proceed with your permission.
Dr. Bailey will now spend time with you to explain any physical findings and, together, make a plan that is safe, expert and efficient so that you can get back to doing what you love as quickly as possible.
Whether its an abnormal Pap smear, heavy periods, no periods, pelvic pain, incontinence or prolapse, our team can provide the expertise you need to solve whatever gynaecological issue you have at your pace.
If you think we may be able to provide the help that you need, please give our receptionist a call. We’d love to hear from you.
